What Color Does Red And White Make When Mixed?

When we mix the Red color and White color, it will give the result a Pink color.

If you mix 50% of Red paint and 50% of White color exactly then it will give Pink color or sometimes it will give light pink or dark pink depending upon the nature of the other two colors. This is because there are different shades of Red color and different shades of White color. If you exactly pick the default Red color i.e., #FF0000 as in Hex Code or RGB(255,0,0), and the default White color i.e., #FFFFFF as in Hex Code or RGB(255,255,255) then it will provide the expected Pink color without having the shades of other colors. 

The color Red is a primary color in both the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color model and RYB (Red, Yellow, Blue) color model whereas the color White represents the absence of all color or no hue which is exactly opposite to the color Black. A mixture of all primary colors such as Red, Green, and Blue results in White color. When we mix the Red color and White color, it turns into Pink color which is the secondary color.

Lighten the Pink Color:

Pink is a mixture of two colors Red and White. Here the color White is the absence of any color or absence of all colors which is colorless when compared to other colors Red. If you feel that the Pink is darker than you expected and you want to make it to a lighter shade of Pink then you will mix a certain amount of White color in the Pink color to have the desired amount of expected light-pink color. You can also add the minimum amount of White color or maximum amount of White color depending upon your requirement.

Darken the Pink Color:

There are certain ways to darken the Pink color to bright pink or dark-pink color. This can be done in the following ways.

1. Pink is a mixture of two colors Red and White. Here the color Red is having a dark shade when compared to another color White. If you feel that the Pink is lighter than you expected and you want to make it to a darker shade of Pink then you will mix a certain amount of Red color in the Pink to have the desired amount of expected dark-pink color. It also sometimes looks like red-pink color.
2. Another way is to add Black color. A mixture of a certain amount of Black color with the Pink color turns it into dark-pink color. Here, you don’t need to add Red color because the mixture of a Black color with the Pink color is enough to have the expected dark pink or bright-pink color.
